My Personal Finance Journey 

My mission is to provide easy and affordable access to personal finance information that should be part of compulsory education.

Over the past five years, I've become obsessed with personal finance. Whether it was listening to the best credit card strategy while playing basketball, reading Warren Buffett's final shareholder letter, or conversing with my peers about investment philosophy, my love for personal finance runs deeper than most. However, I don't just enjoy personal finance. I love helping my community as well. During those same 5 years, I dedicated 2 hours every Sunday to teaching a kindergarten religious school class. From that experience, I learned that I was born to help people. I loved teaching that class.

 

My First Check is the intersection of my passion for both helping people and personal finance. With this platform, I intend to teach the next generation of middle school, high school, and college students how to succeed financially.

The name "My First Check" pays homage to the fact that students who work throughout school do not know what to do with their first check...yet. In fact, it was only two years ago when I received my first check. ​
